Portugal voted top country to visit in 2013 following development

Portugal has been voted as the top country to visit in 2013. The country’s investment in development has bolstered its credibility as one of the world’s most cherished holiday destinations.

Globe Spots, a group of independent and keen travellers who like to share with other travellers about the places they enjoy, described Portugal as ‘a country that oozes old European charm’. Portugal saw off stiff competition from the likes of Mozambique, Armenia, Panama, Cuba and Canada to take the crown.

Portugal features a host of beautiful historic quarters, full of squares, churches and monasteries. The country also poses as the perfect destination for holidaymakers looking for a slice of culture during their holiday.

One of the most famous regions to visit is the Algarve, which is an area offering an abundance of white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters.

Portugal also guarantees almost all-year-round sunshine with many holidaymakers falling in love with the country.

It’s National Villa Week :)

National Villa Week launched by leading online villa company

Villaparade.co.uk, the UK’s leading independent online villa company has launched ‘National Villa Week’ to support the growing interest in villa holidays by UK holidaymakers.

The holiday company, which offers 500 holiday villas, beachfront apartments and farmhouse properties across the Mediterranean, came up with the idea to help British holidaymakers celebrate what it sees as a growing UK trend towards independent villa holidays over alternative package options.

Andrew Warden, Sales & Marketing director at villaparade.co.uk states: “The idea behind National Villa Week is to help celebrate the choice now available to holidaymakers who are looking for that affordable exclusive holiday.

“Villa holidays have always appealed to those looking to holiday their way, and now, more and more UK holidaymakers and travellers are turning to villa holidays as the new package holiday and National Villa Week is a celebration of this new trend.”

To help launch National Villa Week, which runs from Monday 23rd to Sunday 29th April, villaparade.co.uk will be running a series of promotional offers throughout the week across different popular resorts, including: Mallorca, Menorca, Portugal, Kefalonia and Cyprus – although the company does offer properties across 14 resorts.
