It’s National Villa Week :)

National Villa Week launched by leading online villa company

Villaparade.co.uk, the UK’s leading independent online villa company has launched ‘National Villa Week’ to support the growing interest in villa holidays by UK holidaymakers.

The holiday company, which offers 500 holiday villas, beachfront apartments and farmhouse properties across the Mediterranean, came up with the idea to help British holidaymakers celebrate what it sees as a growing UK trend towards independent villa holidays over alternative package options.

Andrew Warden, Sales & Marketing director at villaparade.co.uk states: “The idea behind National Villa Week is to help celebrate the choice now available to holidaymakers who are looking for that affordable exclusive holiday.

“Villa holidays have always appealed to those looking to holiday their way, and now, more and more UK holidaymakers and travellers are turning to villa holidays as the new package holiday and National Villa Week is a celebration of this new trend.”

To help launch National Villa Week, which runs from Monday 23rd to Sunday 29th April, villaparade.co.uk will be running a series of promotional offers throughout the week across different popular resorts, including: Mallorca, Menorca, Portugal, Kefalonia and Cyprus – although the company does offer properties across 14 resorts.

The company is also running a competition across its Facebook and Twitter pages to give away a one-week villa holiday, as well as hundreds of £50, holiday vouchers to those who get involved.

The Ses Salines May Fair

With May fairs being extremely popular in the Balearic Islands, Ses Salines is just one of many fairs taking place this year to coincide with May 1st. Like many towns and villages, Ses Salines is hosting its own fair, incorporating a special festival and market.

This year’s Ses Salines fair is particular important as it marks 25 years of celebrations – each year more and more activity is added, making the event a truly magnificent day out for day visitors and villa holidaymakers.

Not only will visiting the May Fair give you an insight into Mallorcan arts and crafts, commercial and agricultural shows, but close by is the Botanicaptus botanical gardens, which are the largest in Europe, certainly an added extra to your day out.

Cracker joke time..:)

“How do you get a Christmas tree to turn that frown upside down?”

“…Give it a gift for Christmas.”

Oh, and here are some interesting facts about Christmas trees:

The earliest records of decorated Christmas trees were recorded in Germany in the 16th century.

The Christmas tree is traditionally decorated with Christmas lights, garlands and tinsel.

Normally an angel or star is placed at the top of the tree, representing the angels or the Star of Bethlehem from the Nativity.

The earliest accounts of decorating an evergreen tree at Christmas were recorded in Germany in the 16th century.

The Christmas tree is sometimes referred to as a Yule tree.

Merry Christmas everyone!
